Government Abuse

We live in an age in which not all municipal decisions are motivated by the purest of intentions. Ramsdell & Hind is keenly aware of this. With increasing frequency, our clients call upon us to challenge the arbitrary and irrational, and sometimes vindictive, actions of our elected officials. Our experience in this area of law is extensive. Be it downzoning, landmarking, TIF ordinances, eminent domain, denial of special use, variance or planned development applications, or privatization of public lands, we have seen it all.

We approach these wrongs in a manner designed to achieve judicial redress for the wrongful conduct of public officials, while also recovering attorneys' fees from the offending municipal body for the costs associated with challenging it's decision. While recovering fees is certainly never guaranteed, we have successfully obtained attorneys' fees in cases involving abusive acts of government officials. Our tried and tested approach also is geared towards insulating our clients from further abusive actions on the part of municipal bodies.
